The circuit was developed for use
by Commentators at sporting events, however the circuitry
lends itself to various functions as each block is
available for use independantly if required. Two Microphones
can be mixed together with an external Line feed,
e.g. Effects. The Microphones can be set such that
they 'duck' the level of the Line feed during commentary.
Two external Line feeds can be fed into the unit for
feeding two sets of headphones for reverse cue. The
headphone 'amplifiers' are high level line drivers
and suitable for most broadcast headphones.
The circuit board has the following
functions:
* 2 Microphone Inputs, electronically
balanced, suitable for a wide range
of microphones including Lip Mics. Preset gain adjustable
-40 to -80dB.
* 1 Line Input stage, electronically
balanced, can be linked to Line output
of Mic amps to provide preset 'ducking' of Line Input
(e.g. sports effects)
during commentary.
* 1 Line Output stage, electronically
balanced which provides 'mixed'
output of 2 Mic channels plus Line Input.
* Faders can be inserted at suitable
points in the chain.
* 2 Balanced 'Headphone Inputs' with
high drive Line amps for
200ohm and above headphones.
* All connections are via 0.1"
Molex connectors and various combinations
of the system can be configured using these connectors.
Single PCB requiring external supply
of +15v / -15v, a suitable encapsulated power supply
is available from Lynden (part no xx-xxx).
A sample configuration is available
on request. Finished units are available to order,
housed in a sloping box with XLR connectors and external
encapsulated Mains PSU.
